Sundowns Secure 21st Win with Shalulile and Nku Goals Against Royal AM
Mamelodi Sundowns continued their impressive season with a 2-0 victory over Royal AM at Harry Gwala Stadium, marking their 21st win.
With this victory, they have accumulated 69 points, just two
shy of their record 71 points, with three games still left to play.
The game began with Sundowns showing confidence.
Aubrey Modiba forced a great save from Royal AM’s
goalkeeper, Hugo Nyame, with a powerful long-range shot.
Neo Maema then came close to scoring, hitting the post from
the edge of the box.
The breakthrough came just before halftime.
Peter Shalulile scored with an acrobatic rebound after Nyame
deflected a header from Lesiba Nku.
Sundowns' dominance continued in the second half, with
Shalulile hitting the post again and Thapelo Morena missing a good chance.
The second goal came 20 minutes before the end when Lesiba
Nku scored a fine strike after a hard-working game.
Marcelo Allende missed a penalty in injury time, but it did
not affect the result.
Sundowns' commanding performance ensures they remain strong
contenders as the season nears its conclusion.
