Is Alexandre Santos the Next Kaizer Chiefs Head Coach?
Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly looking to appoint Alexandre Santos, currently the head coach of Petro de Luanda, as their new head coach before the next season starts.
Santos would replace interim coach Cavin Johnson, who took
over after Molefi Ntseki was fired.
Although Johnson initially performed well, a recent decline
in the team's performance has led the Chiefs to seek a new leader.
Alexandre Santos, a 47-year-old Portuguese coach, has an
impressive track record.
He has won two league titles in Angola and is close to
winning a third.
His notable achievement includes leading Petro de Luanda to
the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League in the 2021/22 season, where they
defeated Mamelodi Sundowns in the quarter-finals.
Santos has also served as an assistant coach at prominent
clubs like FC Porto and Al Ahly and has experience with the Saudi Arabian
national team.
Despite interest from other clubs like Wydad AC and Simba
SC, Kaizer Chiefs are hopeful to secure Santos as their head coach.
